Whatever. The guy once rented a Chevy pickup truck for his campaign because he thought it would give him more appeal. That's right, he rented it. He's a phony.

He's a phoney b/c he rented a truck once? Man, out of all the things to criticize someone for. Be a LITTLE more discerning arendr, come on!

I think you missed the point. Here's a quote from another article on the subject:

"Seated in the audience is a childhood friend of mine....My friend stands talking with her colleagues as the senator is driven away by a blond, all-American staffer. A few minutes later, my friend gets into her car to head home. As she pulls up to the stop sign at the parking lot exit, rolling up to the intersection is Senator Thompson, now behind the wheel of a sweet silver luxury sedan. He gives my friend a slight nod as he drives past. Turning onto the main road, my friend passes the school's small, side parking area. Lo and behold: There sits the abandoned red pickup, along with the all-American staffer." - The Washington Monthly, May 7, 2007.

The point is that the image he uses to look like a populist, is fake. Just like George W. Bush's attempts to look like a religious populist are fake, as he's really a rich guy who grew up in Massachusetts.

1. Umm Bush grew up in Texas, but was born in Massachusetts. Get your facts straight.

2. By the way, what evidence do you have that Republicans don't like entertainment or Harry Potter, people?

3. No, 9/11 didn't happen on Clinton's watch, but the planning for it did. Along with several attacks on our interests, there were signs of trouble. 9/11 happened just 8 months into Bush's first term.

4. Thompson doesn't strike me as the candidate Republicans should nominate in 2008. He will likely lose if he is the nominee. I suggest Rudy Giuliani is the man they want.

I'm pretty sure that he'll nab not only the nomination, but the presidency if everybody stares at the Iron Eagle 3 poster for a few minutes....

Quote: "Only time will tell if Thompson's campaign will catch fire like the plane in Die Hard 2, but RT will keep you posted along the way."

Actually, the plane in Die Hard 2 crashed and burned, much as I hope/imagine Thompson's campaign will.

Um, just so you know. Conservatives have been in charge for the past 6&1/2 years and it sure seems like we're going to hell in a handbasket. If Dems had been in charge and we had run the US into the ground like you Repubs have, then you'd have a valid argument. As it is, you are an idiot.

This is what really annoys me about Partisan politics. In your case Liberal Democrats, but could just as easily be Conservative Republicans...The seeming perverse joy you seem to get by the world "going to hell in a handbasket". Does it make you feel good that things are going poorly just because it allows you to be right for naysaying? Republicans need to learn the meaning of the word compromise and Democrats need to get off their asses and stop cherrypicking every little thing that's wrong and start coming up with solutions for how to make things right. Seriously, it seems like all you need to be a politician in this country is perfect 20/20 hindsight. Get over yourselves, stop knocking how piss poor the other guy is, start doing something right yourself and then maybe you can criticize and expect people to listen to you. Also lets not forget unfortunately this govt is a two party system and both parties have done more than their share to get us into this mess by being at each others throats so much nothing worthwhile gets accomplished.

Good point: Republicans don't like Harry Potter, which is why there are so many "Republicans For Voldemort" campaign bumper stickers around. Who would vote for Voldemort unless they wanted Harry Potter dead?

This guy would suck c**k worse than Reagan did. Impeach Bush now! Clinton was a f***ing saint to any of these c**k sucking republicans. 911 didn't happen when Clinton was in office. Bush should have been put in prison. This country is so f***ed up that I don't have much faith in anything anymore. F**k Rush Limbaugh too.

Wow so much hate for the right side. Don't forget the left side is the side of love not the side of venom and hate. Besides I know more right wingers who are fans of the arts then left wingers. Hey I wish Fred Luck. Because anything is better then a Muslim or a power hungry ex-first lady who didn't get alot done her first 8 years in the White House.

It's probably because we have to think what else can we do when the whole world and the Constitution no longer mean a thing. It's that or pulling a Lee Harvey Oswald. Take your pick...

Or you could stop moping around and moaning about how the world and your country have gone to **** and go out and vote for someone you think will make it better. I think someone suggested that a while ago...who was that?...Oh yeah, the guys who wrote the Constitution. Seriously I love people who use the Constitution when it benefits them, then want nothing to do with it or our any other of the cornerstones our country was built on when it doesn't...or maybe I just missed the amendment that encouraged assassinations of Presidents we didn't personally vote for.
