Total Recall: Gary Oldman's Best Movies

Summary

Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy are the stars of this weekend's Prohibition drama Lawless, and we don't have anything against either of them -- but we're just as intrigued by the involvement of a certain Mr. Gary Oldman, whose (by most accounts too-brief) appearance adds another chapter to one of Hollywood's most fascinating careers. From indie flicks to blockbuster franchises, Oldman's done it all, and we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity to look back on some of his filmography's brightest critical highlights. It's time for Total Recall! Back to Article

It's called freedom of expression, Brad :P Would the world be a better place if people didn't express their opinions about Gary Oldman movies?

I find it funny that users scream for Oldman's performance in "The Professional" but it is mentioned on another list on the second page and that everybody act like they've seen everything Oldman has done!

Over what? Oldman's awesomeness? Not going to happen. Don't let it affect your love of Kung Fu Panda, squirt.

Many people tend to forget his very short, but memorable role in True Romance, but since we are talking about Oldman playing a psychopath...

Air Force One made me hate him. He was such a dink. As for his best performance, I thought he was great in Dracula. I think that is a pretty good movie. I can't figure out why people don't like that movie.

I agree... I think we would have got the point with one Batman...they could have skipped 2 of them and thrown in True Romance , My Immortal Beloved or even Dracula....... Very hard to believe that Tinker Taylor was his first Oscar nom. though...Wow

What an absurd list. You have 3 Batman movies in which he plays a supporting role yet you don't have The Professional or Bram Stoker's Dracula. Why even bother.

Jeff Giles, you have not included 'Leon: The Professional' as mentioned by countless comments now I'm sure. I hope that you were *instructed* on what movies to write about and didn't come up with this list yourself. If the latter's the case...just stop writing about movies immediately. And go watch Leon.

Yeah. I don't understand how RT lists work exactly but Kung Fu Panda is rated below JFK, True Romance and TTSS on RT. It's about Oldman performances anyways, not the best rated movies he's been in. Oh well, to each his own.

sorry every1....'Romeo is Bleeding' is absolutely the best acting G.O. has done. Not on the list? Absurd. The scene near the end when he ..does what he does, then goes through a series of emotions in that climax dealing with 'Mona'. Incredible acting, and movie. From the beginning to the very last scene.
