Fair Representation of Reviews?

With reviews like Jay Weston's (Huffington Post), "[Les Miserables] May Be the Best Movie I Have Ever Seen" and Chris Tookey's (Daily Mail), 'A masterpiece', not included in RT's critics' reviews, are we being given a true representation of the quality of this film?

What's the point in complaining? RT will get to all the reviews in the end. It's plain bitchy to complain about the SPEED with which reviews are added. It's not like this site was gonna skip the Daily Mail and Huffington Post completely if we didn't say anything. sheesh

In my mind, this is now becoming ridiculous.
The newest contribution is from David Edelstein. His review has been recorded as 'Rotten', even though his article is entitled 'Youâ??ve Got to Admire the Gumption of Les Misérables'. Even more prominent is the fact that, although Catherine Shoard's review is critical, in her overall score, she credited it with three out of five stars. This is 60%; the same figure required for a film to be given an overall 'Fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Is it just me or is this simply illogical?

Matt from RT here: We've checked with Shoard, and she confirmed that the review should be marked as Rotten.

It's weird to see such a low Tomatometer percentage when the Average Rating has been in the 7s (at 7.9 at one point). Usually the Tomatometer is higher than the Average Rating. I don't know how to explain it, but I suspect we just need to be patient and not worry too much about any mis-representation. It's getting good marks from all kinds of sources. And besides: the film's still got 2 weeks till it opens and then after that, only our own opinion matters.

Also, this review seems mostly positive (he says the opening scene is worth the price of admission alone!), not negative as it's listed here: http://www.colesmithey.com/capsules/2012/12/les-mis%C3%A9rables.html

What's going on here? We're getting a weirdly unrepresentative (and now inaccurate) sample of reviews.

Unfortunately, B- by Cole always gets a rotten. Just how he asks them to represent his reviews.

Great! And that bumps up the rating 5%! Just goes to show we need to wait for more reviews to get an accurate reading. With so few reviews, just one can affect the score significantly.

To be clear, Cole Smithey adds his own reviews to RT, so he probably misposted at first, then later corrected it.

Yes, I completely agree. Right now, it's like people (critics, specifically) have seen 2 COMPLETELY different films. One they're apparently applauding after almost every song and giving it a 10-minute standing ovation and calling it "a masterpiece". The other is being called...well, the exact opposite of everything I just said. I don't understand. Is this going to be an Oscar-winning game changer? Or just another "nice try" movie-musical? Someone please tell me it will be the former...

I've always trusted the honesty of RT, but This is bordering on pure crap on the part of RT. It's one thing to include fair reviews. It is another to be so far up the rear end of another movie that you don't reflect what is actually being said by reviewers. At this moment you are risking your reputation.

The vast majority of the reviews that many have been saying have not been posted to RT are from sources that either 1) are not Tomatometer-approved, or 2) self-submit their reviews to the site. Furthermore, while we are trying to post them as we come across them, our staff is smaller than one might think, and our top priority is collecting reviews for films that are opening this week. You will certainly see an influx of reviews come in over the next couple of weeks.
