Does this movie have subtitle?

I am thinking to get my two kids (13 and 15) to see this movie. But they never seen a play nor read the novel. For what I understand, this movie is composed of almost all singing. I am worried that they won't be able to follow the story.

For those who had watched the movie, does this movie have subtitle when the actors/actress sing?

How understandable is it to a kid who never seen a movie like this?

thanks,

My daughter first saw Les Mis when she was six and loved it. She is now 21 and can't wait to see it at the cinema.

Henry, They would be bored to tears ,no subtiltals. I like musicals but this is a NO NO. Didn't like it one bit. Really could not follow it. I could have left the cinema in the first 10 mins :(

Dawn and Marea,

Thanks for both of your comments. It is very disappointing. I really wished to exposed them to the finer things in life.

Henry - No. No subtitles. Not sure it would be a good thing for your teenagers, unless they enjoy musicals that play similar to an opera. This film is not for everyone. I loved it.
