Adam Marcus, whose previous works include Jason Goes to Hell (1993), directs this heartwarming romantic comedy. The film opens with little James Ellis watching his parents divorce and his mother (Bernadette Peters) hop from one Mr. Wrong to the next. His grandmother warns him that "in this family, the men leave and the women go crazy." Fast-forward 14 years to a gloriously snowy winter day when James (played by screenwriter and brother of the director Kipp Marcus) runs into his neighbor Sarah

At once a throwback to the days of Capra and Sturges and a wholly contempo item, Snow Days is smarter and more appealing than many other recent romantic comedies.
The film has refreshingly modest aims; it just wants to tell an enjoyable boy-meets-girl story.
Steeped in self-indulgence.
James' character is a charmless, boring lump and it's very hard to care if he gets the girl or not.
Is as eager-to-please as a new puppy and just about as cute.
The film's naïveté makes up for its rampant predictability.
Although "Let It Snow" isn't groundbreaking, it is a pleasant diversion.
Pretty much a compendium of riffs that would have been old-hat in film school.
Date Movie? It strains itself into a hernia to be one. If, however, you are single, you will be happy about it when this is over.
A career-making turn for the Brothers Marcus, who exhibit a fresh and charming way with the love-struck young.
Brings little new to the table.
A derivative but likable romantic comedy.
This sometimes-breezy romantic comedy tries hard to melt your heart with its snow-globe sweetness, but the strained quirkiness and not-quite-credible characters make the fluffy Snow more flaky than fun.
Whether or not it matters to you if boy and girl get back together depends on your tolerance for bland romantic comedy.
An adorable, Sundance-type screwball comedy about how a prolonged friendship can play havoc with romance.
