James (Kipp Marcus) is a daffy dude who just wants to be liked. One afternoon, while shoveling snowy sidewalks, he meets Sara (Alice Dylan) who brings him cocoa and shows him she can balance a cup on her flat head. They sled, they make dreams, they decide on their careers. He's silly and sincere; she's fiery and aloof. They decide they're "just friends," but they can't seem to meet anyone else they like as much as each other. He goes to her school dance, they kiss, they decide they won't see each other for a while because now their relationship is too complicated. She moves to England, he moves to the Big Apple. He thinks he'll never see her again; she moves to New York. They reunite, but she's engaged to get married. James's best friend, Mitch (Henry Simmons) is a successful stockbroker who tries to bring James down to earth throughout, but James is just too much of a romantic for that. Bernadette Peters plays James's wacky mother who only dates foreigners who don't speak English. [More]

At once a throwback to the days of Capra and Sturges and a wholly contempo item, Snow Days is smarter and more appealing than many other recent romantic comedies.

Although "Let It Snow" isn’t groundbreaking, it is a pleasant diversion.

The film has refreshingly modest aims; it just wants to tell an enjoyable boy-meets-girl story.

Pretty much a compendium of riffs that would have been old-hat in film school.

Date Movie? It strains itself into a hernia to be one. If, however, you are single, you will be happy about it when this is over.

A career-making turn for the Brothers Marcus, who exhibit a fresh and charming way with the love-struck young.

A derivative but likable romantic comedy.

James' character is a charmless, boring lump and it's very hard to care if he gets the girl or not.

Is as eager-to-please as a new puppy and just about as cute.

This sometimes-breezy romantic comedy tries hard to melt your heart with its snow-globe sweetness, but the strained quirkiness and not-quite-credible characters make the fluffy Snow more flaky than fun.

Whether or not it matters to you if boy and girl get back together depends on your tolerance for bland romantic comedy.

The film's naïveté makes up for its rampant predictability.

An adorable, Sundance-type screwball comedy about how a prolonged friendship can play havoc with romance.
