Reviews for Liar Liar
A lot of fun, especially when Carrey reels off an entire lifetime's worth of driving offences to a nearby cop.
What's best about this script is the premise: a lawyer who doesn't lie.
Pretty rudimentary, but it keeps Carrey's occasional over-exuberance in check and delivers likeable, effective, but decidedly mainstream comedy.
In the film, Carrey manages a balancing act that'll please his fans, but also promises to broaden his audience.
All-in-all, Liar Liar is pretty good fun, and it represents one of Carrey's most entertaining movies to date.
While the humor is absolutely hilarious, the sentiment is overly sappy, and several times that conflict risks sinking this otherwise sturdy vehicle.
Well into his tumultuous career, Mr. Carrey finally turns up in a straightforward comic vehicle, and the results are much wilder and funnier than this mundane material should have allowed.
...Liar Liar stands to make a liar out of those who predicted that Carrey's career was on the skids.
If you're NOT a Carrey fan, I recommend you see this & THEN pass judgement on his talent & his ability to hold a movie together with something other than his butt.He rocks.
...as Liar Liar proves one more time, there is probably no more consistently funny performer working in film today.
Finds an amusing premise and beats the hell out of it, propelling it into one hysterically funny situation after another.
I have to admit that I generally don't like Jim Carrey but I thoroughly enjoyed Liar, Liar.
