"The Lighthorsemen" is an epic war drama depicting the exploits of Australia's Light Horse Cavalry in Gaza during WWI. The story focuses on Dave, a young man who brashly enlists into the armed forces, only to find that when facing the enemy he cannot open fire. He eventually proves his valor to the other soldiers by rescuing horses from under the noses of German forces. During this act of bravery he is wounded, and while in the hospital he falls in love with a nurse. Once healed, he returns to his outfit in time to participate in the big assault on German positions, this time as a mounted stretcher carrier. [More]
