The film centers on Corella Robedaux, her unemotional second husband Pete, 11-year-old daughter Lily Dale, and 12-year-old son Horace. When the family relocates, Horace remains behind, at the instigation of Pete, who believes even young boys should learn to support themselves. Seven years pass before he is reunited with them, when Corella invites him for a week's visit. His presence immediately changes the family's dynamics. Lily, accustomed to being the center of attention, reacts most strongly. Then Horace becomes extremely ill, further complicating matters. [More]
