You could pick the script apart for impossibilities. But why bother? It's much more enjoyable to shut your brain off and have a good time.
Even after shutting off my brain, my guts hated the protagonist...
By the end, I felt the entire movie was promoting the use of drugs.
It's still a good movie, I enjoyed it.

Really?, shut your brain?, with this movie?... you know the one about smart people?

Shut your brain off, you mean turn it on and making you feel smarter!

I tried, but the 12 month skip, happy ending, and interesting conspiracies that were never looked into.. disappointing still.

The ending definitely felt lazy: ending it on a joke (yet again) about him being able to speak a foreign language. I would disagree, though, that the film has a pro-drug message: after all, he goes through a lot of hell in the process of trying to acquire and maintain the use of the drug and in the end he gets off it.

i like how everybody got real technical with the whole shut the brain off comment. It means dont over think. In which clearly all of yall did.

^ha, my thoughts exactly as i skimmed the comments. shame some social stigma can ruin a great scifi thriller for so many people.

I agree with what you said about the character roles being really strong but as some of the other reviews have stated you cannot just turn your brain off and watch, you would miss too much! And you did not mention the bad ending but over all good movie.
