I'd rather have seen DiCaprio in for Best Supporting Actor, over Alan Arkin. I'm hoping that "Argo" doesn't win a single category.

Remember when The Dark Knight was snubbed at the Oscars and everybody was pissed about it? So the academy decided to put 10 films in the best picture category? So why are there 9 films and one of them is Les Miserable? No love for Skyfall :(

Affleck isn't that good of a director. He makes solid entertainment, yes, but there's nothing too distinctive about his directing style.

Typical Academy, steering clear of anything "controversial." They didn't want to come near the Aurora shooting, so they ignored Dark Knight Rises. The Academy almost always plays it safe.

It was so bad the movie didn't get a nomination for sound or cinematography? I'm not saying it should have gotten a nom for film or anything but lack of the technical awards surprises me.

TDKR was a great film but it's anti left messages and anti Obama messages were way to clear for the far left hollywood to just let go. Add in the shooting and TDKR got screwed. It's a shame because it was supposed to be the number ten movie on the best picture list via as AFI gave TDKR the last spot on the list. AFI also ranked TDKR the best film of the year.

They nominated Avengers for technical awards but not TDKR... does that sound even like a remote notion of quality?

The "DKR was snubbed because it hates Obama!" guy is full of it, but The Dark Knight Rises was a worthy entry into the series that deserved every bit of the 87% approval it got.
But after The Dark Knight, it's only mildly surprising that the academy would snub it a single entry. A quality film about "superheroes" taking prestigous nods away from The Reader and Les Miserables? Not on their watch!

Why 9 movies instead of 10, if there were 10 that the kingdom would fall exactly in the list

That missing slot is what makes the omission of "Master" and "Moonrise" such an insult.

The way the Academy has set up the nominations is any film that gets at least 5% of the Best Picture votes. Apparently neither of those films did.

that's it's nothing special, from a rating of 90%? nothing special, the usual komiksovoy film, children's story

That's right, this year is very strong male supporting actor and DiCaprio had to get on this list, at least, instead Arkin although it is good and has been a great Jackson and Goodman really hard vybirat.esli Waltz wins I'll jump to the ceiling joy, he was also incredible in this role

I agree, Affleck definitely lacks style....he's no PTA, QT or Wes....but the Town was really done well, one of the most realistic car chase scenes i've ever seen. He's good, but I agree, he's not great.

Finally!! I've been scrolling down through these comments and all the emphasis is on Waltz and Leo but none for Jackson who gave probably his finest performance and stole Django from all his costars.

TDKR was a terrible film. The scene between Catwoman and Daggett where the "Clean Slate" is being obnoxiously overly simplified for the audience alone makes this flick Razzie-worthy. And the action scenes really weren't great. All the extras play-fighting during all the final scenes were so distracting and laughable.

Jan 10 - 10:07 AM

Dave J

I don't know some of those scenes were conveniently identicle to "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" and theirs obviously a direct correalation with all three films!

And to say it deserves a "Razzie" in comparison to Burton's Batman films makes Nolans third film a masterpiece since in Burton's version Batman didn't need an introduction to the character at all whatsoever since it's assumed that because he's already in comic books that he didn't really need one- now that's pretentious!

I don't think he should've unfortunately the movie underused him at the end i don't think Waltz deserved it this year either and no zach I believe that's it

Actually, my favorite score was from BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, but that got snubbed TOO!!!!!!!!!!!
