Actually "Amour" is co-produced by France, Austria and Germany. It's a French film directed by Austrian director Michael Haneke. It's this year's Austrian entry to the category of Best Foreign Language Film. However, it's also qualified for other awards such as Best Film and Best Director because of having enough screenings in the US or other factors, and some Academy voters think that it is a very good film. Thus it is nominated for Best Picture also.

I agree with all of it. And that Wallis girl? She is pint-sized, and now officially the youngest best actress nominee ever. Well done Quvenzhane!

It's funny: I actually think Moretz deserved a nod for KICK-ASS!

I was hoping Skyfall would get and acting nod at least for Javier Bardem and maybe Dame Judi.... Now all I care about is that John Williams wins best score and Skyfall wins best song and Spielberg for best director.

I didn't expect 'The Dark Knight Rises' to be worthy of the Best Picture or Best Director awards, but I'm in complete shock that it didn't get any nods whatsoever. I'm also pissed about Leo getting snubbed. But on the flipside, I'm in love with the Best Original Song category for this year.

It's no surprise that 'The Dark Knight Rises' wasn't given Best Picture or Best Director nods, which I don't mind, but NO nods in the technical categories?! I'm also pissed that Leo got snubbed. On the flip-side, I'm in love with the Best Original Song category for this year.

I have a feeling Argo will win Best Picture this year, although I'm surprised to see Affleck excluded from the Director nominations. I personally hope Lincoln gets everything it deserves though, especially Spielberg for Best Director, the man is a beast!

I'm glad Les Miserables was nominated. It's all based on opinion and haters can weep and complain uselessly if they want.

I'm going to take a guess and say that either Argo or Zero Dark Thirty wins the best picture category. I have no solid reason to believe so, but I think with the way it is currently set up, most people will assume Lincoln will win because Spielberg is also up for best director. However, I'm going to assume that the academy wants to further fuel the shocks and surprise by having a film that isn't up for best director win the best picture category, which to my knowledge hasn't been achieved in quite some time.

It just seems to me that this year they are really trying to surprise and create many upsets. With the 3 films up for best picture but not best director, and the nomination of a young girl for best actress, who knows what really will happen? It's easy to say Argo, ZDT, and even Django won't win because they aren't up for best director too, but what if that's what the academy is hoping we'll think?

I thought DiCaprio did a really good job, but Christoph also did good, in my opnion they both should have been nominated. I hope that Zero Dark Thirty or Django wins it, I want Tarantino to get his first, I for sure thought Inglorious wouldve got it

Tarantino deserves it through and through. Nonetheless, I bet Lincoln's gonna win and Spielberg will get Best Director. That film deserves it. I'll have to pass with ZDT, just another fascist fantasy propaganda.

I'm pretty sure Chastain is winning Best Actress and Daniel Day-Lewis winning Best Actor. I agree on your other predictions, though.

I think Wallis deserves it over Chastain.

Every actress deserves it over Chastain. I'm merely deducing who's obviously winning.
