Reviews for The Little Red Truck
It looks like a great program, but this documentary is too scattered to be all that interesting. Too many kids, too much action, not enough time.
MCT is undoubtedly a worthwhile organization, but that doesn't mean it's fun to sit through what amounts to a 90-minute advertisement for the company.
This is kids stuff all the way: incident without drama, controversy, art, or any of the other things that make a movie watchable.
If it sounds like the cutest thing in the history of cuteness, that's because it is.
Pic's strength lies in charting a dual process, that of a play taking shape in an incredibly short amount time and of the changes wrought in the children's behavior as they learn to listen, focus, follow directions and work as a team.
The Little Red Truck is more interested in exploring MCT's process than in its real-world results. That's fine, but let's not call this a documentary. It's public relations.
