Synopsis: Orie is a bored middle-aged housewife living a comfortable but monotonous existence in an upscale Japanese suburb. Her husband Shiraki is understanding and accommodating, but still she feels lonely... One night a handsome young stranger appears at her house, abruptly apologizes, and then disappears. His mysterious appearance awakens forgotten emotions in Orie, and she yearns for his return. He does, and soon these nightly visits from what may or may not be a ghost lead Orie on a journey of self-discovery and reexamination of her life. This ghostly Japanese drama is reminiscent of Mizoguchi's UGETSU and the films of Japanese master Yasujiro Ozu. [More]
