Box Office Guru Preview: Can Chuck and Larry Beat Up Harry?
Two new star-driven Hollywood comedies face off at the box office this weekend in an attempt to unseat Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix from the top spot. Adam Sandler headlines the gay marriage pic I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry while John Travolta goes one step further starring as a heavy-set mom in the musical Hairspray. For the first time in nearly a month, no new release gets an early midweek headstart.

Box Office Preview: Sandler "Clicks" With New Comedy
Although Father's Day has passed, Hollywood brings out two very different stories about dads and their wacky adventures this weekend with Adam Sandler's comedy Click and Tyrese Gibson's actioner Waist Deep, both opening in theaters on Friday. Comedy has been ruling the box office throughout the month of June and that trend should continue until the Man of Steel arrives next week.

Box Office Preview: "Cars" Battles "Omen" at Theaters
Racing into theaters across North America, the computer animated film Cars aims to take over pole position this weekend targeting family audiences. Those looking for a good scare can instead choose The Omen which already launched on Tuesday with some frightening results. Trailer Bulletin: Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
If you're not a hardcore horror fan, this could get a little confusing: In the beginning there was Tobe Hooper's "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," and it was good. It was followed by sequels (of varying quality) in 1986, 1990, and 1994. Then came the remake, and that, too, was surprisingly good. And NOW comes a prequel to the remake, the trailer for which you can only watch after 10pm ... cuz it's spooooooky.

Batman Rules the Box Office Roost
Debuting with very strong (albeit not staggering) box office numbers is the long-anticipated return of the Caped Crusader. Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" handily hooked the #1 spot at the box office this weekend, hauling in just under $47 million over the three-day frame. Toss in the Wednesday and Thursday numbers and the new-fangled bat-flick stands with a fairly impressive five-day tally of $71.1 million.

The Smith Spouses Demolish the Weekend Box Office
The charismatic superstar pairing of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie kicked a whole lot of box office butt over the past weekend, raking in an extremely impressive $51.1 million from 3,400 theaters. Industry insiders were expecting a solid bow for the semi-romantic action comedy "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," but the movie blew right past the predictions, thanks to a multi-demographic concept, (very) high media visibility, lots of high-end action, and good old-fashioned sex appeal. One week after debuting impressively, yet still behind the juggernaut that is "Revenge of the Sith," "Madagascar" snagged the #1 box office spot in its second weekend of release. (But don't feel too bad for George Lucas' baby; it's now the fastest movie to gross over $300 million.) The DreamWorks animated comedy "Madagascar" beat out a trio of multiplex newcomers to grab the top spot, grossing $28.7 million in its second frame.

Stone, who is known for his politically charged films, is developing a new crime drama, "The Night Watchman," ironically about police corruption.

"Sith" Takes More Revenge Over the Holiday Weekend
Despite some rock-solid competition, "Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith" grossed an impressive $70.8 million in its second weekend. Bolstered by a 4-day holiday frame, George Lucas' sixth and final space opera reigned supreme over a pair of wide-release newcomers -- but the competition did pretty darn well, too. The DreamWorks animated comedy "Madagascar" drew the family ticket, grossing $61 million over the Memorial Day weekend (in over 4,100 theaters), while the Adam Sandler sports flick "The Longest Yard" was close behind with a tally of $60 million in just over 3,600 theaters.
