Did Joseph Levitt's character drop the ball?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the child is going to become the Rainmaker (which sounds just like the biblical prophecy of the Antichrist who will lead to the end of humanity) Why did Levitt's character sacrifice himself to save the child's life? Levitt killed himself so the evil leader can grow up and screw up the world?

Also, wasn't that sex scene the most forced sex scene ever? They was no romance between them and all the suddenly, she is coming on to him. It was awkward ...

In the original timeline, Joseph Gordon-Levitt killed Bruce Willis and lived unhappily ever after. Bruce Willis never killed the mother. In the skewed time line, Joseph Gordon-Levitt killed himself and ipso facto Bruce Willis disappeared. Bruce Willis never killed the mother. The rain maker will happen anyway. The entire plot line is garbage. The main character changed nothing. He merely ensured the continuation of the nearly original timeline which means that the rain maker will still be in the future. The answer is yes. His character did drop the ball. Or more to the point, the writers dropped the ball. Levitt merely read the script.

Am i the only one who wanted that little bastard dead? I mean, come on, it's clear when he speaks to Gordon-Levitt that he is an evil creature. And the whole "he is raised by is mother -> he will become a good person" Why?? That makes no sense!

The rationale is that what caused him to become bad was that he saw his mother killed and with that, saw the evil nature of people. This anger directed him in the wrong direction. By preventing that from happening, Joe was allowing the un-traumatized Syd to grow up and become a good, or even just a normal, person.

The entire point of "reversing the circle" was that love can over-power evil. Now that the mother lives, there is hope for the Rainmaker. Get it now?

Yeah, Eric and Hollis got it right. Me, and even a few of my employees at DISH, didn?t catch it the first time either. They kind of blurred through it really fast at the end. But since I didn?t see it in theaters and rented it with Blockbuster @Home through DISH instead, I just watched it second time. And since BB@H has over 100,000 different selections by mail for less than the price of a movie ticket a month, I?ll probably never go back to the theaters.

I wished the sex scene had been at least slightly graphic. And yes, they failed at building sexual tension properly. Open-ended finale, wishful thinking?

Sara lives alone because she does not want to bring her son around other humans. She was probably extremely horny. also, she patched up his wounds. also he's JGL. the sex scene makes perfect sense to males watching the movie.

The kid did not see his mother get shot so he doesn't grow up bad.

no and yes. Sid doesnt become the rain maker because sara is not killed and can raise him right (pay attention ). and the sex scene was extremely forced

Ok the sex scene wasn't forced, the woman had a sexual desire, so she needed it fulfilled she was horny and lonely and well buzzed for JGL to come "visit" her. Why is this movie so hard to understand lol I watched it once and completely understood it.
