RT on DVD & Blu-Ray: Smart Sci-Fi Flick Looper
Last week was the longest RT on DVD article of the year, and this week, we've got the shortest RT on DVD article ever. While most films opted to hit the home video market before Christmas and take full advantage of the holiday buying rush, our one release today decided to throw caution to the wind. Rian Johnson's Looper is the only home video release worth talking about this week, so without further ado, let's talk about it.

Box Office Guru Wrapup: Hotel & Looper Soar at Box Office
The North American box office bounced back to life thanks to a pair of new releases from Sony which drove the marketplace to the best September frame in history. The animated comedy Hotel Transylvania overperformed and checked into the number one spot while the studio's release of the sci-fi action pic Looper gave the it the runner-up spot too with over $64M in combined ticket sales leading the Top 20 to a potent $115M, a new high for what is normally the slowest month of the year. Especially noteworthy is that the weekend was driven by original films as none of the top six movies were sequels or based on well-known brands.

Critics Consensus: Looper Is Certified Fresh
This week at the multiplex, we've got a futuristic hitman ("Looper," starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a monster bash ("Hotel Transylvania," with voice work by Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg), and a pair of education advocates ("Won't Back Down," starring Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal). Find out what the critics have to say! The fanboy anticipation for Looper has grown to a fever pitch over the last few months. It appears the wait was worth it; critics say Rian Johnson's third feature pulls off that rarest of trifectas -- it's at once a provocative head trip, a tense thriller, and an intriguing character study.

Total Recall: Bruce Willis' Best Movies
He's been a television star, recording artist, wine cooler pitchman, and Idaho real estate tycoon, but Bruce Willis is best known for his films -- and his latest, this weekend's Looper, looks to be one of the most critically renowned of the year. Not too shabby for a guy who's been cranking out movies for 25 years -- and whose filmography includes some of the most beloved hits of the last quarter century. In honor of this latest achievement, we decided now would be the perfect time to take another fond look back at some of Mr. Willis' brightest critical highlights, and you know what that means... yippee-ki-yay, it's time for Total Recall!

Five Favorite Films with Emily Blunt
Emily Blunt arrived proper for most audiences as Meryl Streep's sarcastic, binge-dieting assistant in The Devil Wears Prada -- in which she stole many a scene from the Oscar legend -- and since then has proved a versatile star across all kinds of genres, be they comedy, drama, sci-fi and most things in between. This week, Blunt co-stars opposite Ewan McGregor in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, director Lasse Hallström's picturesque comedy-drama about a fisheries expert enlisted by an eccentric sheik to bring a river to the Arabian desert. We had the chance to speak with the actress recently about the movie, her friendship with McGregor, and some of her forthcoming projects. Read on for that, but first -- here are her five favorite films.
