...with Blu-ray renderings in such excellent picture and sound, there is no reason to believe they won't conquer audiences worldwide all over again. (Blu-ray Edition set)

Audience Reviews for Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy

Before The Lord of The Rings came out I had no interest in any stories set in Middle Earth. Honestly, when I first saw the trilogy I was in my early teens, so I lacked the capacity to fully appreciate what I was seeing. All they were to me was fast paced action and irrelevant dialogue.

At the time I just went to see the movies for sheer entertainment. And sadly, thats all I got out of them. The years passed and I went through high school looking for who I was. I have to admit that who I wanted to be would never have been as big a fan as I am, of movies like these.

So, not until this year (after I graduated high school) did I decide to buy the trilogy and give these movies another shot. That has to be one of the greatest decisions I have ever made.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is the best series ever made. They're not the best movies ever made, but together as one, they are the best series. The first one does start off fairly slow (mainly the time spent in The Shire), but I completely understand the process of setting up a long story.

From then on, the story not only picks up, it takes off like a jet. The trilogy entertains on an intellectual level, as well as the well-choreographed action, epic battles, and beautiful landscapes. All I can say is that I'm glad I waited until I was mature enough to appreciate the beauty of this epic trilogy that Peter Jackson has created.

When you learn the back-story of J.R.R. Tolkien's life, as a British officer who served in France in WWI, you see the influences of what he saw and his overriding romantic view of Good conquering evil, no matter what the cost. The concept of the elves is beautiful. Also, it took him 13 years to write the trilogy. If you haven't read it, it is spell-binding!
