Both social history and a cry for social justice, this is the best documentary on society's lower depths since "Dark Days".

A deeply humanistic movie which throws a non-exploitative spotlight on people who have found a way to make a life for themselves while homeless, and also make themselves of greater service.

Audience Reviews for Lost Angels: Skid Row Is My Home

And here I thought skid row was a band (bad joke). Antonio Villaraigosa and William Bratton got my blood boilling and they can suck it. Please let there be a Hell in the afterlife.

I was at the Los Angeles premiere of this film at the famous ArcLight Cinema in Hollywood, and the movie received an enthusiastic response. I was especially moved because downtown Los Angeles, is and has been, a representation of a divided Los Angeles - white / of color, wealthy / poor. Although this film makes largely invisible the "white" elephant in the room, and casts the struggle against gentrification and unjust policing as a struggle solely by and for people of color, I am hopeful that a new downtown is set to rise - one that brings together white residents and residents of color in a just fight against developers, city council members, and corporations for a downtown that includes and supports everyone regardless of race and class. This movie is a step in that direction, and one next step is for people of all hues to join the Share the Wealth campaign occurring now in downtown LA: http://awarela.org/share. I am hopeful and ready.
