jrdamwijk writes: on Dec 16 2007 06:52 PM I don't think this should have been done, but it doesn't affect how I feel about the film either way. It's still a great, subtle, understated film, and that's why the ending was so great. But honestly, did anyone really think that he said "Bye you damn douche, Ill never talk to you again" or something? I know people say it was a goodbye scene, but really, I never took it like that. She was clearly happy by what he said, and it wasnt a subtle "Yes, I love you but I know this is the way it has to be" bittersweet happy, it was a "I'm so excited for our future" happy. Ross H. writes: on Jan 23 2009 08:28 PM In reply to this comment (#1355782) to anyone who thinks this movie is overrated, I have this to say : "you people voted for Hubert Humphrey, and you killed Jesus." and you've probably never felt lonely or lost before, or had a meaningful encounter with someone unexpected that you knew could never work out, but still had a strong impact on you. it's not pretentious. if you don't think the movie is beautiful, you're simple.
