Abner is an ornithologist who runs a bird lovers' magazine that has fallen on hard times. Along comes Osborn Tremaine, a con man who tricks Abner into selling him the publication for an incredibly low price. Osborn then sends Abner packing on a trip to Brazil. While Abner's gone, Osborn transforms the magazine into a girlie publication -- and when the mild-mannered naturalist returns he's just in time to be arrested and tried for obscenity. He gets acquitted, but the publicity has transformed him into a Hugh Hefner-like sex symbol. Soon Abner's mixed up with mobsters and has abandoned his longtime sweetheart -- until he starts missing the simple life he's left behind. [More]
