This filmed version of his play LOVE ON LAYAWAY features an all-star cast that includes vocalist Deborah Cox, who shines on nearly every track. The story centers on three couples living in a brownstone and attempting to navigate the vicissitudes of life, love, and spirituality. Ms. Willanetta (Cassi Davis) has been dating her beau Renzo (Buddy Lewis) for 12 years, but a religious experience has made her question their relationship. Meanwhile, Monique Graham (Cox) lives with her boyfriend, Anthony (Mel Jackson), but feels that he is making the bare minimum payments on their love affair.
