Gypsy love potion transforms lonely, awkward and shy science geeks into not-quite-so-geeky in this formulaic though cute romcom from the 90's that was Sandra Bullock's first starring role and set the pattern in her career of playing wallflowers who suddenly bloom.

This was a funny comedy. The situation was a little silly and you could tell were it was heading in the end but it was fun.

The story of two lab-rats Diane and Paul (Sandra Bullock and Tate Donovan respectively) who get a love-potion from an old gypsy (Anne Bancroft) that makes it impossible for the opposite sex to resist them. She and Paul do what any geeky scientists would do, they treat the whole thing as a big experiment, and "evaluating the results" has some interesting and funny consequences.

another movie I vaugely remember. I just remember it's one of the many terrible movies to come out of the 90's, but at least it has a geek in it who can't get girls, so I can definitely relate to it. =P

Tate Donovan, a geek biochemist with no luck at all with women, is persuaded by his friends to visit a gypsy, Madame Ruth.(Anne Bancroft) She gives him "Love Potion No. 8", an elixir which can potentially force anyone of the opposite sex to instantly fall in love with him. He shares the potion with his friend, Diane, (Sandra Bullock) and together they embark on a "scientific evaluation" that gets out of hand.

FINALLY! A movie she's starring in...and it starts off with the first of many formulaic nerdy/hottie transformations. I love this movie, cause I love her...lol.

I used to watch this all the time on TV, I don't think she really was all that frumpy but it's still a funny movie.

I love the song... and then I found out there was a movie... Awesome... Sometimes your true love can be the one that was always there to start with...

A remake of an older movie about a love potion that makes men swoon. Not like men wouldn't swoon anyway, especially for the ridiculously hot cast, but still. You know what would really happen if a love elixer was developed? The ugliest people on Earth would use it.

Nice and easy cheesy romantic comedy from back in the day. I watched it recently and it is only a little corny because of its age. Love Sandra Bullock!

Kind of lame and pathetic. Plus I can't stand Tate Donovan. You know, after watching this movie I'm convinced Sandra Bullock got plastic surgery soon after.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie! So funny! Tate Donovan is pretty hot in this film when his hair ISN'T slicked back and Sandra Bullock is so funny looking in the begining when she's a nerd!

You know, very cute, and nearly goes very dark for a moment (people who've seen this know what I mean) but Sandy does her twinkly thing and the guy is the guy.
