It wasn't until they premiered their footage in December of that same year that the art of cinema was truly born. As they continued to develop their miraculous invention, the cinematographe, the brothers boldly began to film natural events as they unfolded. Shot in a series of unedited takes that usually last about one minute, their wide-ranging catalog is more documentary-like than fictional or abstract.
