Director Miller Wants More Penguins, "Mad Max 4" Without Mel Gibson
by Jeff Giles | January 26, 2007
Blog Article | Discuss Article
If you've got a thing for dancing penguins, you'll be happy to hear that ComingSoon.net is reporting -- via the AAP -- that "Happy Feet" co-writer, director, and producer George Miller is seriously contemplating a sequel to the CGI-animated hit.

"Happy Feet" has racked up awards and grossed $350 million worldwide since its 2006 release, making a sequel almost a foregone conclusion for everyone involved; Miller, however, has other things he wants to do first -- including going back to the dystopian, gas-parched future:

Will we see penguins in a post-apocalyptic future for "Happy Feet 2"?

"It's certainly now a real possibility, (but) there's about two or three films I want to do before we would ever embark on that, including another 'Mad Max' sooner or later."

"Apocalypto" fans be warned, however: Miller has already said that Mel Gibson will most likely not be involved in "Mad Max 4."

No Mel Gibson?
How are they going to do Mad Max without Mad Max? Please just make this movie about the Mad Max world and not have a Mad Max character in the movie at all. Maybe characters can reference him or something but I'd hate to see somebody else playing Mad Max. A prequel wouldn't even work 'cause Mel Gibson was young as hell in the first Mad Max. Just hire Mel again, please! Pleeeaaaasse!

The Road Warrior in my opinion is the greatest action movie of all time, so to leave out Mel Gibson who made the role is a shame.

I don't see any use in making another Mad Max without Mel.

Mad Max without Mel? Why not a Forest Gump 2 without Tom Hanks or Indy 4 without Harrison Ford? Like renodc said...no use without Mel.

Some people think that a Terminator 4 without Arnie isn't such a big deal, but Mad Max is a different ball game alltogether and it will probably suck like the dystopian remake RollerBlade....as an Aussie, who used to own a car just like Max's (without the fuel mod's in the boot), i lost interest after they made the mistake of driving camels.
