Critic Review - San Francisco Chronicle

The screenplay, by Eric Darnell and Noah Baumbach, churns out the snappy witticisms with admirable creative gusto, but it whizzes along at such a frenetic pace that you'll probably miss half of them.

So a grown [wo]man dislikes a genuinely bad film rightfully and is disliked by you, a Madagascar kid, for doing "his" job? Okay, man.

Great movie? For some adults but not for small children. Too many allusions to the previous movies. Way too fast paced. Too much violence. The two children (3 and 5) my daughter and I took were bored and often clueless. Monte Carlo casinos just not in their area of reference for some reason. The reviewers should give an idea of what ages a children's movie is appropriate for. In addition, they should take a real live child to see the movie and get their reaction.

My six year old was not thrilled by it. But my 9 year old LOVED and has already seen it twice.

This movie is all comedic padding, the jokes aren't funny, and it's obnoxious. Are parents really so desperate to distract their kids for an hour when there are so many better animated films out there? "Ohhh, Pretty colors, Katy Perry, and rainbow Afros" don't make a good kids movie.
