Movie Info

Curly Howard returned to his old haunts in this 2-reel comedy starring The Three Stooges. Curly, who withdrawn from the Stooges due to a stroke, was visiting the set when producer-director Jules White convinced him to play the bit part of a chef, complete with handlebar mustache and hair. Unfortunately, the sequence has for unexplained reasons been exorcised for the comedy's television re-release. A typical Stooges romp, Malice in the Palace has the three dimwits as waiters at the Cafe Cashbahbah who leave their jobs to hunt down the famous Ruttin' Tuttin' Diamond, stolen from a museum by the evil Emir of Shmow. Disguised as Santa Clauses (!), the Stooges manage to scare the Emir into handing over the jewel. The Stooges remade the short in 1956 as Rumpus in the Harem.more
