Like most '60s groups, their history is tinged with sadness; for the Mamas & the Papas this moment came with the sadly premature death of "Mama" Cass Elliot in 1974. John Phillips also passed away in 2001, but the band left a wonderful musical legacy behind them, with this documentary on the band celebrating the 40th anniversary of their career-defining CALIFORNIA DREAMING album.
