Following the death of an American war correspondent (John Rice) in Nicaragua, his best friend, a New York stock broker (Louis Gossett, Jr.) is sent down by the State Department to claim the body. Upon his arrival to the nation's capitol, Managua, he discovers that the body has supposedly already been interred.
