The principle characters center around the Texas Motel, a rundown retreat that attracts a variety of weird and wonderful people. Among them are Dunga (Matheus Nachtergaele), a gay cook who has a crush on a local butcher, Wellington (Chico Díaz); Kika (Dira Paes), who is Wellington's overtly religious wife; and the flirty Lígia (Leona Cavalli) who works at a nearby bar. Their stories add up to an absorbing portrayal of life in a populous Brazilian favela, as the group struggles to make their way through life. [More]
