Independent Spirit Awards Nominees Announced

The nominees for the Independent Spirit Awards has been announced, and Movie City News has press release. "Sideways" leads the pack with six nominations including those for Best Feature, Best Male Lead for Paul Giamatti, Best Supporting Female for Virginia Madsen, and Best Director for Alexander Payne. "Maria Full of Grace" comes in second with five nominations including Best Feature and a Best Female Lead for newcomer Catalina Sandino Moreno. "Kinsey" ties with three others for third place with four nominations. By studio, Fox Searchlight comes out way ahead with a fourteen total nominations. Fine Line Features and HBO Films come in a distant seconds with six nominations each and Focus comes in third with five.
