Directed by George Cukor, the film was called SOMETHING'S GOT TO GIVE, and co-starred Dean Martin and Cyd Charisse. But the production was troubled by Marilyn's instability. She was fired and rehired, and died before filming was completed, and the footage that remains is assembled here as it would have appeared in the final piece, lovingly restored to its original CinemaScope. Narrated by James Coburn (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN), the documentary provides new information about Marilyn's last days, as her vulnerability and volatility become clear in never-before-seen backstage footage, interviews with Marilyn and her co-stars, and hair, make-up, and costume tests.
