The non-ending turns the whole movie into an elaborate tease, too creepy to dismiss, too shallow to justify its "ambiguities."
Thank you. It's about time someone saw the movie for what it is - a complete cop-out with a non-ending masquerading as some sort of artsy flourish.

Why do you need an ending? I can't for the life of me understand people like you lol. I bet you hated No Country for Old Men, didn't you?

No, I didn't, thought it was one of that year's best movies. Thanks for playing, try again.

For someone who has been a critic for as long as you have I am surprised that you are 'mystified' by the ending. Do I need to explain it to you? Okay, here goes. It's called form following content; she is confused and paranoid and her own state of mind is precarious. Therefore the movie puts us in that place as well. By the end, we don't what the heck is going to happen - and neither does she.
