Her past reviews does indeed form a strange pattern.

To give FRESH movies a rotten review and vice versa smells a little like she is just trying to be contrarian. Maybe she IS just trying to get hits to her magazine's website, being the only negative review so far.

Also, she does indeed seem to have a bias against Marvel movies. From the looks of it, she does seem like a DC fan.

And the review itself is not that well written, like some her claim. Her metaphors are horrible and lack imagination.

But that's just my oppinion.... Im not saying the Avengers is a perfect movie, but if you are going to give it a bad review, atleast respect it enough to know the characters names and not contradict your self all the time in your own review.

I've always been a little worried about how RottenTomatoes is part of Warner Bros. Huge conflict of interest considering the WB has movies coming out, namely The Dark Knight Rises.

Stepping Razor

I'm with you Steven N. That is something people need to look out for. It's definite conflict of interest.

Warner Bros.' conflict of interest really showed when Akira was still in production. There was positive article after article (or reference after reference) about it here on RT.

The bias/conflict can be blatant or it can be subtle, but I have no doubt that as its properties are released, it's going to use RT to heavily trumpet them.

I don't think there is anything to worry about, green lantern is WB, and it got a 26% or something, and more recently, wrath of the titans is also WB and it got like a 23, Avengers is gonna do just fine.

yep huge conflict of interest. I remember when the Captain America movie came out and RT was putting up all the negative reviews the could fined before the positive reviews. They also held back negative reviews for Green Lantern as long as the could.

Yeh, the numerical conversion is obviously a FRESH, but I think RT reads through the review to see if the tone and context of what was written is considered FRESH.

Warner Bros has no say so on how movies are rated fresh/rotten by critics. The power they have over Rotten Tomatoes is 2 folds:

#1 - They can advertise their movies on the front page which is why Dark Knight Rises is always there 95% of the time.

#2 - Even though they have no power to give fresh/rotten ratings, they have the power WHEN to add them. Like others have mentioned re: Captain America last year. The first 5-6 reviews that Captain America had were all fresh including Top Critic - Roger Moore's review which happened to be the very 1st review ever. But all those first fresh reviews, including Roger Moore's were never added until two days later. During that time, Captain America had a rotten rating, and Rotten Tomatoes kept tweeting at least 3xs that day how rotten Captain America was to it's followers.

Warner Bros has different interpretations of 3/5 ratings for Rotten Tomatoes. Sometimes they're fresh, sometimes roten.

As far as this review goes, she calls Nick Fury as "Nick Frost", and looking at her past reviews:

^ She seems to dislike Marvel films in general. She gave Avengers, Iron Man, and Incredible Hulk all rotten reviews. But she gives all DC films including Watchmen all fresh reviews.

Rottentomatoes would be a much better website if it didn't allow people to comment on reviews before a movie actually is released.

One rotten review... three hundred angry comments. These people want the movie they've never seen to be PERFECT and they've somehow started to believe that this review is actually ruining the movie itself.

Part of the big deal is that Avengers would be at 100% without her idiotic attention seeking review.
If she was doing a legitimate critique of the Film with valid points I do not think most of us would be saying anything.
Knowing that a film many of us have been excited about for 4-5 years has exceeded expectations and isn't getting any bad hype from legitimate critics is HUGE. Do you know how few films have 1100% on the Tomato meter? To us fans knowing it had a shot at that and was robbed of it by a critic who should not have a leg to stand on as far as credibility is concerned (look at her reviews). She has terrible taste poor insight and you can blatantly tell she did not pay attention during the film, or during the other marvel films which she also reviewed. She didn't eve get names of re occurring characters right.
She should be cleaning houses or waiting tables not reviewing films.
