Critic Review - Richard Roeper.com

One of the great joys of Marvel's The Avengers is its sense of humor about itself.

Okay, so far this movie got great reviews from Peter Travis, John Campea (Movieblogtv), and Richard Roeper! Now, if Roger Ebert (my favorite critic of them all) gives this movie a positive review, then I am sold!!!

Okay, so far this movie got great reviews from Peter Travers, John Campea (Movieblogtv), and Richard Roeper! Now, if Roger Ebert (my favorite critic of them all) gives this movie a positive review, then I am sold!!!

ps Remember that Roger Ebert said he is not a big comic book fan, so if he gives a comic book movie a positive review, it is really saying a lot about that movie.

Roger Ebert gave Watchmen, Spider-man 2, and the 2 other Batman movies 4 stars, thats not true. If he gives it 3/4 it doesn't say much. But higher than that is good.

in all honesty, Avengers looks much more epic than The Dark Knight Rises.

I'm incredibly excited for both, but they're completely different movies. Like one of the other reviews said, this is "Transformers" with a brain, heart, humor, etc, but Nolan's Batman is more of a gritty, crime film with some action elements than what would stereotypically be considered a "superhero" film like the Avengers (and all the other Marvel movies).

Best critic on here by far. There's not a man or woman that I trust more when it comes to movies.

Roeper is your favorite critic? This is the guy who hated "Fellowship of the Ring" and then flip-flopped and said he loved "The Two Towers" and "Return of the King" when people disagreed with his frist review. How do you positively review two of those films but dislike the other?

Every review I've read so far mentions how funny the movie is. Frankly, I'm not surprised. This is the guy who brought us Firefly and Serenity, after all.

This looks like a really pleasant surprise! It's a pitty I only realized it could be that good until recent.
