Anyone who doesn't understand what this means, she's basically saying is that Joss Whedon is a much of a fan as the fans. He makes what he would like to see on screen.

Which is why this movie could not have been made better by anybody. He's a fanboy that knows how to cater to the mainstream, rather than part of the main stream that is trying to cater to the fanboys.

And there in lies the problem..I thought it was GREAT, but not very original. Anyone who is a fan of Joss Whendon's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" series can definitely see STRONG similarities in the Avenger Movie and the "Buffy" finale.. ie a motley crew must find away to work together to stop an approaching Apocalypse from coming to earth thru a portal..When all seems, lost one team member sacrifices himself to save the world..sound familiar???...lol
