Nothing but 2:20 of special effects and ridiculous fights...it's like all the superheroes are trying out at the Improv to see who can give the best one-liner, and none of them do.
There are seven elaborate super heroes, one major God-villain and an army of aliens. How wasn't the fight going to be ridiculous? lol
May 6 - 12:35 PM
How to was it ridiculous
May 6 - 12:49 PM
just the fights between the heroes i think too were ridiculous. The stupid, long boring fight between thor and iron man when thor just got loki is what comes to mind more, worse yet when captain america joins in, but i remember hating other fights too. That one in particular, for me, not only did not make sense, but also was boring (nothing bad could happen anyway and nothing important happened off it), long, and a frustrating disruption. Also the contrived word fights that loki was supposed to cause were just plain stupid, unless loki was dealing with kindergartners which these semi geniuses were not. The whole participation of loki with the to-be avengers was forced and stupid. The final battles were pretty awesome though. I liked the movie, the characters, but i agree with the reviewer, it was stupid, the one liners were disappointing and the petty fights ridiculous.
May 8 - 10:53 PM
that fight that annoyed you most was meant to show how their abilities evened out..or kind of even out lol. The word fight was meant to show how their personalities mixed terribly and was another thing to overcome besides the regular bad guys. It all had a point, you just missed it is all.
May 10 - 12:33 AM
it had a point, but I think how they make the point was to quote him "ridiculous" and forced into the whole. Movies should make their points without trying to impose them and i think the set up for it wasnt very smart. And well, apart from having a useful point, they wanted a cool superhero fight, we all like to see our superheroes fight. It would just be nicer if put more effort in building to that. I still didn't hate that and I repeat I enjoyed the movie a lot, i am just saying the critic does have some points.
May 10 - 09:35 AM
oh but i agree that the fight between tony and thor was a little dragged out
Hum, comic-books were originally geared towards kids to show them in a childlike way how to overcome things in life, if it was too simple and boring for you it was probably because you were over thinking it. You remind my of my better half who says most things in life are boring but apply it to real life and guess what, it has now done what it was designed to do, bring smiles, give hope, and teach a hidden underlying lesson on how to overcome something you have obviously over-complicated.
May 11 - 04:02 AM
Ridiculously awesome, you mean?

Guy's fishing for website hits DO NOT OBLIGE HIM!
May 6 - 12:54 PM
After viewing his website, I totally agree. It's like what A.O. Scott would put together if he were paid with food stamps.
May 6 - 01:25 PM
I almost feel like he wrote the article before he even watched it in a "look at me!" ploy.

Oops! Too late.

Kick rocks, haters. :D
May 6 - 12:55 PM
Doesn't actually prove anything
May 24 - 02:19 PM
Does it prove anything when the movies you like make a lot of money?
May 28 - 06:42 PM
quit being a troll.
May 6 - 12:56 PM
I respect any critic who can go against a 94% grain and do so forcefully; (self-)righteously. I just can't stand a critic who either tries to act like or really doesn't know much about the subject of the review. There are not six superheroes and only two of the FOUR can fly. It is not a stretch to call this the best superhero movie ever. Others may say it is good, not great. This person calls the experience "excruciating!" Perhaps Preparation-H could have made it more tolerable for you. I don't like Japanese food. I would not be a good person to review a Japanese restaurant. You get where I'm going here, right? Good. I'll read your review again when I'm interested in more high-brow cinema. $200 million in 3 days. Mission: Accomplished.
May 6 - 01:12 PM
technically, there are only three superheroes (depending on your opinion on cap, which is my favorite. so I'd say he is.) Hulk is an anti-hero. So this guy is even dumber than you thought.
May 6 - 06:44 PM
Double-technically, Tony Stark isn't a SUPERhero, but he is a hero.
May 6 - 08:52 PM
lol Hulk isn't an anti hero. An anti hero is an unlikable protagonist like Travis Bickle, Mark Zuckerberg, Lobo; someone who is a jerk or a a--hole. Hulk was totally likable. In fact, he was one of the most likable characters of the movie. Look at all the idiots going around saying 'Hulk smash'
May 7 - 05:52 AM
Have you ever read a marvel comic in your life? Hulk is a superhero. Not even close to an anti hero. Anti hero= the Punisher, Deadpool, Venom, etc.
May 8 - 05:56 PM
Idk, i can see his point, Hulk was a good person, but he lost control easily causing a lot of collateral damage
May 9 - 12:22 PM
Like i was saying before, he is entitled to his opinion. However, seeing this film myself, i just can't see how you can say this is a bad film, i guess that's just me though. But overall you're talking about a 92%-94% RT score, and that's outstanding when you think about it.
May 6 - 08:53 PM
Tony Dela Cruz
I would like the Hulk to pick you up and slap you on the ground five or six times like a rolled up magazine. If you don't think special effects are normal for a popcorn movie, then go be an off-Broadway theater critic.

Larry Jason Whitehurst
And your just a envious jackass.
May 6 - 01:50 PM
all I have to say is you are a complete and udder idiot for not liking this movie. If you don't like superhero movies in the first place why do you bother seeing them?
May 6 - 02:29 PM
No. He isn't an idiot for having an opinion.
May 8 - 03:06 PM
He's an idiot for having the wrong one
