You know everyone is entitled to their opinion of a film. just because he says something we personally don't agree with doesn't give us the right to bash him verbally. Movies are made to entertain us and based on our vast number of personalities and tastes in genres or particular style of film will determine how much we like it personally. That's all i got to say about that

He's a film critic.This isn't his opinion, it's his critical evaluation of a movie. If that evaluation is misleading, we have a right to criticize it. If an average spectator hates something, it's an opinion. If a critic hates something, they should have some very good reasons and evidence to back it up.

The truth of the matter is that you expected the filmmakers to "play the conservative game" and thus, you find it difficult to see past this notion.

In actuality they didn't. They took on incredible potential risks in an effort to make this a fully captivating and over the top experience which was what most fans expected. If you weren't captivated, it probably has more to do with your lack of ability to appreciate the characters for what they did. But that's just a matter of being an informed fan, not a critic.

From a critical point of view, there are only a small handful of things wrong with this movie. And they have more so to do with certain minor plot holes, which inevitably detract from the would-be convincing storyline. Other than that, this movie was a success.

Acting like it wasn't is just plain ridiculous.

@Brandon Lee: I agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I also agree that movies are meant to entertain first. And a good critic judges a movie on what the movie does in comparison to what it was intended to do.
