Critic Review - Chicago Reader

There's not much humor to keep it all life-size, and by the final stretch it's become bloated, mechanical, and tiresome.

wow, you really are a horrible critic. It is comforting to know that all the ignorant old people, with irrelevant views (much like yourself) will eventually die soon, leaving room for the fresher generations to voice their knowledgeable opinions.

-not one of them, but neither are you.

There's room for descent, but damn are you wrong. I hope no one pays you to be a movie critic.

I was really shocked to read this review. This movie took lots of different exciting elements from various genres and pulled them together into something extremely fascinating. Its hard to believe you didn't "get it".

Jonathan Rosenbaum, your review has about as much substance as a Britney Spears CD.

The sarcasism and attempted wit is boring and tediously cringing.

By the final sentance it's become self-indlugent, childish and downright moronic.

The Matrix is a holey original film, the concept is innovative, the characters are everlasting mentally and the direction and slylistics are incredible. Learn to appreciate good filmwork you ****.

The Matrix was a film which generated new techniques not used in a feature film in the past.

I actually agree with Rosenbaum in that The Matrix isn't a good movie. Many events go unexplained for the entire movie, and it can be plain stupid at times. Too far-fetched an idea that becomes too predictable in the end, but at least it outshines disasterous sci-fi films like Star Wars.

@Mysterious F...
Watch The Matrix again and pay attention (especially to the dialogues or put on subs if you have to). It explains everything CLEARLY, especially by Morpheus. I even get it so you can throw any questions at me. I don't know what your idea of a movie is but it probably sucks!

ok, you can talk about the Matrix, even make fun of Keanu Reeves acting, but NEVER make fun of Star Wars, that movie opened doors for so many sci fi movies, you pathetic excuse for a critic

I'll agree there were some definite "wtf?" moments in The Matrix. (The Superman style flying, making sure you stop to put on shades before you go face the bad guys, etc)... but I think you're expecting this movie to be something it just isn't.

you cannot base a bad review on the fact that a non-comedy film isn't funny enough. people like you should not review films.

Are you saying that you went into the theater thinking this would be a comedy?

You're an idiot..Simple as that... Rosenbaum huh? Yeah, it's clear you can't see the obvious message of a 'savior' coming along to change humanity in this well written movie. Perhaps all the Rosenbaums' of the past never heard of Jesus either. Dumbass!

I loved The Matrix. That being said, disagreement does not justifies anti-Semitism.

I can't believe no one said a thing about some of the comments made here.
