Audience Reviews for Max Q

Jerry Bruckheimer's first tv movie is in the tradition of movies like Marooned and Starflight One. The crew of the space shuttle Endeavor are stranded in space after an explosion from a misfired satellite sends their ships rocketing out of orbit. Bill Campbell plays the mission commander, and he fits perfectly in the role of an astronaut. Sure the movie is filled with otherwise carboard characters, and cliched situations, but what do you want? It's a Jerry Bruckheimer movie! All it needs to have is cool visuals, and a pulsing soundtrack, of which it has both. It also boasts visual effects that were, at the time it was made, far better than average. Not high art, but a fun, escapist movie.
