An animated comedy from Scholastic that promotes cultural diversity, MAYA & MIGUEL is a charming, hilarious, and educational series on PBS. Ten-year-old twins Maya and Miguel are a plucky, curious pair, constantly up to something and forever having adventures in their diverse neighborhood with their many friends. Their hearts are in the right place, but their explorations often turn to misadventures which lead to humorous predicaments and eventually, a learning experience. Comprised of three episodes, the collection includes "Rhymes with Gato," in which Mays tries to help her friend Chrissy find her lost cat, or "gato," and winds up with a very unhappy duck, or "pato." Then, inspired by her Abuela Elena's memories of the restaurant she used to run, Maya decides to open a restaurant of her own, "La Nueva Cocinita." Finally, "The Letter" that Maya finds on her brother's desk, written to a pretty girl in class, leads to heaps of trouble for Maya and her friends. These adventures offer twice the fun and tons of laughs!
