In order to flee from quickly advancing German forces, anti-Semitic Polish Colonel Prokoszny must team up with a man who procures a car for their flight: S.L. Jacobowsky, a Jew who quietly takes the Colonel's racist abuse. But when the colonel's incompetence lands them in the Nazis' clutches, It is Jacobowsky's nimble mind that wins their freedom.
