Reviews for The Medallion
You’d either have to be hard up for a Jackie Chan fix or have seen everything else at the Cineplex to purchase a ticket and spend time with this disappointing effort.
There is a kitchen/dance montage that belongs in a David Lynch movie. Chan and Evans make desert together, then Chan dances with Forlani. I was waiting for Robert Blake to pop out and tell everybody that they’re not really here.
Jackie Chan will be back in a good movie soon, and then we can forget about this misstep once and for all. Oh wait, I’ve forgotten it already.
It's finally happened -- Jackie Chan has turned into a full-fledged cartoon character.
The Medallion is an honest machine for making money, a meritorious entrepreneurial model.
One of the Peking Opera-trained superstar's most mediocre films, rivaling last year's God-awful The Tuxedo for sheer messy filmmaking and brazen acts of tedium.
Unfortunately, it dresses Jackie Chan up with gadgetry and gimmickry.
It's a lame slapstick actioner in which Jackie Chan lets CGI effects take the heat instead of his arthritic joints.
The story, which was re-written several times by no fewer than four writers, is vexing to nearly anyone above the age of 12.
The cheapest looking, least exciting, least funny Chan project I've ever seen.
A disposable entertainment, redeemed by silliness, exaggeration, and Chan's skill and charm.
When five writers can't churn out something more creative for Jackie Chan's acrobatic skills than this hollow excuse for an action script, it should be buried in turnaround, if not concrete.
The tone of it swings madly back and forth, tripping wildly over pointless scenes.
