The lesson to learn from The Medallion is that a wire- and computer-assisted Jackie Chan is better than no Jackie Chan but still a bad idea nonetheless.

Reviews for The Medallion
With the cheesy effects and cartoony soundtrack, the film feels like an overgrown episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Unfortunately, it dresses Jackie Chan up with gadgetry and gimmickry.
Do you ever go into a movie that’s so incomprehensible that you come out wondering just why someone put up the money to have it made?
A hackneyed, mediocre offering with little to remind fans of why they like Jackie.
Special effects rob the film of its main reason for being: Chan's amazing stunts.
Chan's grace and Evan's comedy highlight the current chapter in the book of Chan
Repeatedly falls back on poorly staged, choppily edited (and gunplay-heavy) fight scenes between Chan and a gloomy, power-mad villain.
Jackie Chan will be back in a good movie soon, and then we can forget about this misstep once and for all. Oh wait, I’ve forgotten it already.
Makes you long for Tucker -- and for Jackie Chan to fly without digital wings.
In Jackie Chan’s latest, age (Chan is nearly fifty) and a "computer generated images can save everything" attitude negates any excitement.
This outing, Jackie doesn't bring much humor or personality to his role.
When five writers can't churn out something more creative for Jackie Chan's acrobatic skills than this hollow excuse for an action script, it should be buried in turnaround, if not concrete.
