Trailer Bulletin: Miami Vice
by Scott Weinberg | February 23, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

Michael Mann was one of the creators of the very popular 80s cop series "Miami Vice," so when the inevitable time came to turn the show into a movie, there was only one logical choice for director. Mr. Mann wrote, produced, and directed the upcoming adaptation of "Miami Vice" for Universal, and his leading men are Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell. Click here for the trailer. Back to Article

Remember how Miami Vice had a sweet soundtrack and John Hammond?

And the trailer had a Linkin Park/Jay Z remix?

Thats step in the WRONG direction.

I saw this trailer with Underworld 2.

Anyway, it looks neat; it definitely looks like it has Mann's style all over it. But yeah, the music they picked for the trailer (it's "Numb/Encore" mash-up), although I think is a decent track as far as okay music goes, is roughly a decent pick.

Hey, the music works well enough with the trailer... it made Linkin Park bearable. This movie loos like it has all sorts of style, I'll be seeing it. Mann could make it work.

Allright. I'll give in that it worked for the trailer, but hopefully when the film releases they'll atleast have one little throwback to the series.

Calm down...I can't remember the last time the main song of a trailer was also in the movie so it probably won't be in it anyways.

I have that Jay-Z/Linkin Park album...It was cool....but it got old and annoying fast, but what's with the Linkin Park haters? Are you people too cool to listen because they are too mainstream or the fact that they are played on pop stations?

No, i just don't like them because, well, i just don't like them. I find their music to be "not good"

I'll definately be seeing this one... Mann is one of my favorite directors, and if anyone could pull this movie off, it'd be him.

I think it looks tight, like Mann did it in the same vain as Collateral, which is my favorite movie of his and Foxx's. Plus I like Farrell, and Harris.

When i saw this it, i thought it a "Collateral" sequal.

Sorry if I offended any Vice fans out there.

Tubbs and Crockett
How about updating the names if they are going to update everything else. Hardly seems to be a take off of the show so why even relate to it at all? Hearing them called Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs for two hours is just going to be comical and take away from the movie.

nah I'm pretty sure linkin park just sucks. I'm not terribly impressed with Jay-Z either... whatever, the soundtrack will just date the movie, making it hard to watch in even 3 years.
