Designed as a retrospective look at the life and career of the singing sensation, the show was dogged by the controversy surrounding Jackson due to a number of child abuse allegations that were aimed at him. Nevertheless the show managed to produce a positive message in its overview of the Jackson ouvre, and interspersed documentary footage with some stunning performances from the self-styled King of Pop. Among the clips are a rendition of "Ben" from American Bandstand, "Billie Jean" from the Motown 25th anniversary TV special, "The Way You Make Me Feel" performed at the Grammys, and many others.
