It's interesting to see a film about religion in Ireland that doesn't also feature terrorism or sectarianism.

Convincing period detail provides scant consolation in a histrionic pot-boiler that is as entertaining as a sermon and as thrilling as tea with the vicar. It will be a miracle indeed if anyone goes to see it.
