On the way they encounter a girl stranded after a plane crash with nothing to wear but a skimpy bikini. The band takes the giant ape back to Hong Kong, but things get out of hand, resulting in the destruction of many model buildings and toy helicopters. Created in the wake of hysteria following Dino De Laurentiis' 1976 remake of KING KONG, this is a bad-movie classic, rereleased thanks to Quentin Tarantino and his Rolling Thunder Pictures. [More]

  • Mighty Peking Man
  • Sure to drive you wild, here's one of the funniest, most hysterically campy movies ever made: MIGHTY PEKING MAN! A powerful earthquake awakens a giant, apelike creature who descends from the mountains into the treacherous jungles of India. Later, an expedition of greedy showmen capture the fearsome beast, bringing him ... and the scantily clad blonde bombshell he protects ... back to civilization! But payback comes when the Mighty Peking Man breaks loose and begins to run amok in the heart of the city! An outrageous adventure that never takes itself too seriously -- treat yourself to a guilty pleasure that has entertained critics and late-night movie audiences everywhere!

Before the big third act smash-o-rama, the audience is treated to some of the most unintentionally hilarious footage ever committed to film.

I am awarding Mighty Peking Man three stars, for general goofiness and a certain level of insane genius.
