I strongly recommend you to inform yourself about the current situation on drug cartels in Mexico before you write a derogatory review focusing on Laura's passive attitude towards her predicament. It's so easy to say how you would have taken the gun and be and be a strong women. I'd like to see you try.
Bottom line: Please educate yourself.

Yeah, I don't normally criticize reviewers but this just isn't the kind of movie that you come into expecting a feminist fable. This is why I hate looking at cinema through the filter of a critical theory: it warps films into something they're not in order to fit within a particular theory.

some movies try to depict reality, some just a wet dream of what we want the world to be..

you should focus your reviews on the latest, you will not sound as stupid.

the movie, to my opinion falls short of reality though
