Good news indeed, Abrams' MI:3 was the best of the bunch.

Also good to hear that Cruise will actually be onscreen.

MI:1 for the win. Abrams has nothing on Depalma.

Abrams version of MI felt like an elongated espisode of 24. It wasn't very memorable.

Depalma's version had so many classic moments - breaking into langley, the helicopter/train chase at the end, Emilio Estevez getting impaled in an elevator shaft:)

1 was decent but the story was way too convoluted, the action set pieces were so so and the helicopter/chunnel scene was far too over the top imo. Plus 3 had Phillip Seymour Hoffman which pretty much puts it over the top.

I will agree that the langley break-in was classic.

Yeah, but did MI3 have Emilio Estevez getting impaled in an elevator shaft? End of arguement.

Haha, if it were Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen I'd agree with you.

i like MI1 and MI3 equally, personally. JJ Abrams knows how to entertain, that's for damn sure. But, of course, Brian De Palma brings a style that only he can bring to a film. De Palma kicks ***...
