i agree as well. i just watched it and i'm mad as hell that RT has convinced me to watch this when i saw that both critics and audience rated it high. i wasn't gonna watch this originally since the series has really gone down ever since the first one (i only liked the first one) i only really trust the rating when both critics and audience rate a movie high. but this is the first time a dumbed-down movie that audiences will usually rate high that critics have rated high. i mean, where are all those intellectual snobs who shat on movies that do not contain any semblance of meaningful story? where have all those critics gone? i mean, look at this drivel. the movie totally has no character development at all. the characters you get at the start are the characters you end up with at the end. they are flat and totally boring. this was basically a run and chase movie from start to finish. that's the plot. run-chase-fight-explode-run-chase-fight-explode rinse-repeat. a few witty lines was thrown in to break the rhythm but its still crap.
The world needs less intellectual snobs who hate entertaining movies because they lack "depth or meaning". They're all losers who are out of touch with modern society. You're just an idiot who thinks you're smarter than everyone else because you're too highbrow to have fun. Oh, and only boring, pretentious losers use the word "drivel", and you have no sense of grammar.
You thought this movie was entertaining? Really? Which part? When the woman was holding 2 hanging guys by herself? or when Tom made a gravitational pull to his room and latched on like a rubber man onto a wall? This movie lacked a sense of realism -- it was laughable more than anything. I know a good/entertaining action movie when I see one, this just wasn't it. To each their own I guess...I recommend the first MI, by far the best of the series... sequels in general always fail (other than a few exceptions like The Dark Knight).
I agree with Tom P. The movie has its moments, and the action sequences are very well accomplished, but as far as the plot goes, it isn't anything we haven't seen before. On top of that Mr. Cruise repeats what he does best, which is to find the most exotic location to perform his spider-man stunts.
No, critics have learned how to appreciate movies that are made to entertain people. Not all movies have to have depth and meaning and intellectual stimulation to be good.
Who said it isn't an enjoyable movie?
The point is, that this one is probably the first time rotten tomatoes has made a huge mistake with a movie rating. 93% is just false advertising.
Please, the few good ideas were just basically taken from other movies. I enjoy action movies, no argument there, so I enjoyed it; but not for it's lack of originality and muddled story.
However, I did enjoy all the characters and special effects. It didn't abuse any of these.
not sure what movie mr. Vishnevetsky saw but it wasn't mi4. This the best of the entire franchise people. I don't care how crazy they claim tom cruise is (and he is not| in my opinion) but no one in hollywood does action like Tom. Sorry, it is what it is. 4 stars!
This Movie flat out sucked. I loved the first Movie of the series though. You know its bad when people start leaving half way through. The lines are cheesy action predictable. I bet they paid 3 companies to write good reviews on all the sites to boost their revenue. I really felt cheated out of 10 bucks. Dont go see it.
You're only saying this because they blew up the Kremlin and you're a nationalist who is sad to see your country's beloved landmark explode. Look past that, and you'll find one of the most entertaining movies of the year.
